"Homenagem" is the new project of the multicultural Berlin band "A Panda do Sol". It is a recognition of love to some of the greatest Samba composers who gave birth to the genre. The album presents 8 songs, one for each author, and offers a singular harmonic reinterpretation.

In love with the Samba of yesteryear, the one that enthusiasts define as "Samba de Raiz" (Roots Samba), A Panda do Sol has selected for this new album some rare pearls from a handful of composers, founders of the emblematic musical genre of Brazil: Wilson Batista, Noel Rosa, Ismael Silva, Paulinho da Viola, Elton Medeiros, Candeia, Nelson Cavaquinho and Carmen Costa, the interpreter of the 1957 carnival hit "Jarro da Saudade" composed by Daniel Barbosa, Mirabeau and Geraldo Blota.
